Capt. Sean Bercaw has thrown hundreds of messages in bottles into the ocean, and received dozens of responses. He talked to NPR’s Neal Conan about why, and the responses he’s gotten. At 13, he received a response from a woman in Grenada that read a little bit like a personals ad. And two bottles released on consecutive days both landed in France … But one took a year and a half, and the second took 10 years.
